In late December, Pavel Turkevich, Partner at the law firm ALPERIYA PARTNERS, traveled to Vietnam on a business trip.

The purpose of the visit was to develop international cooperation and expand the firm’s network of professional contacts in Southeast Asia.

During the visit, Pavel Turkevich, together with Advisor to ALPERIYA PARTNERS, Moscow attorney Anton Bekhmetyev, held a series of constructive negotiations with Vietnamese colleagues.

The firm’s counterparts were representatives of a major Vietnamese law firm that:

- brings together several dozen qualified attorneys;

- has for many years provided comprehensive legal support to international businesses;

- delivers legal services across all areas of law throughout the country.

The negotiations focused on the following key areas:

- exchange of experience in legal support for international business;

- development of an effective cooperation framework for providing comprehensive legal services to foreign investors in both Vietnam and Russia.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties signed a joint partnership agreement.

The agreement formalizes the parties’ intention to provide complementary legal services to:

- Russian businesses operating in Vietnam or planning to enter the Vietnamese market;

- Vietnamese companies and entrepreneurs operating in Russia or intending to do business in the Russian market;

- private individuals of either country facing legal issues in the territory of the other state (Russia or Vietnam).

The scope of the joint partnership covers the full range of legal matters that may arise – from company formation and transaction support to dispute resolution, intellectual property protection, investment matters, as well as defense in administrative and criminal cases.

The outcomes of the meeting confirmed the parties’ mutual interest in long-term cooperation. The parties agreed on further steps to coordinate joint efforts and deepen professional dialogue.
